Gemadept believes that developing a succession team is an indispensable key factor for sustainable development and long-term partnerships with shareholders and investors. Regarding the development of the successor team, Gemadept has implemented many specific measures including: building a competency dictionary and competency framework for the leadership and management team, conducting annual competency assessments, focusing on leadership training, organizing coaching activities and assigning challenging tasks to develop capacity.\/p>\n
To improve labor productivity, Gemadept acknowledges that its operating model often changes after mergers and acquisitions. Therefore, the Company proactively reviews and adjusts organizational charts in key units to streamline operations and reorganize labor efficiently. This includes eliminating redundant jobs and adhering to LEAN principles, which emphasize eliminating waste that doesn’t create value. Additionally, Gemadept assigns KPI targets for reviewing and improving work efficiency and labor productivity to all member units.\/p>\n
Gemadept is focusing on building and developing a team of management staff, this is the core force to ensure the completion of production and business plans assigned by shareholders. Specifically, in the last 3 years, the Company has appointed 134 new managers.\/p>\n

In terms of process management, in the past year, nearly 100 procedures in all departments and units of Gemadept were checked for strict compliance, minimizing errors. Greenhouse gas inventory according to ISO 14064-1:2018 standard\/strong>\/p>\n
Methods for determining and reporting greenhouse gas emissions are two important tools that help businesses evaluate, measure, and minimize the impact of production and business activities on the environment. At the training course, BSI instructors shared the knowledge and practical experience about greenhouse gases as well as the current situation of global climate change, and provided guidance on methods to determine greenhouse gas emissions and to carry out greenhouse gas emissions reporting according to ISO 14064-1:2018 standards.\/p>\n
Participating in the training course, Gemadept employees were equipped with the basic knowledge of concepts, principles, methods, and procedures for determining greenhouse gas emissions and reporting greenhouse gas emissions in accordance with the standard.\/p>\n

On July 27, 2023, Gemadept's Board of Directors and staff solemnly visited and offered incense and memorial wreaths at the Martyrs' Cemetery in Ho Chi Minh City, expressing their deep gratitude to the war veterans that heroically sacrificed themselves for the cause of national liberation and reunification.\/strong>\/p>\n
With the tradition of "remembering the roots", on the occasion of War Invalids and Martyrs Day, happens on July 27 every year, people from all over the country still gather at the Martyrs' cemeteries to offer incense to commemorate the heroes who have sacrificed and dedicated their lives to the cause of national liberation and reunification.\/p>\n
During the years of arduous resistance war, millions of millions of excellent people of the Vietnamese nation fought bravely, sacrificing their youth and blood to regain independence and freedom for the Motherland. Thanks to them, Vietnamese people can now live a peaceful life and focus on building the country.\/p>\n
Joining the whole country on this special day, Gemadept's Board of Directors, employees and member companies solemnly visited Ho Chi Minh City Martyr’s Cemetery. Here, the delegation spent one minute of silence, offered incense sticks and wreaths to commemorate the merits of the martyrs.\/p>\n

In a difficult time where production and business show no signs of recovery, cutting costs and waste is vital for every business in completing its business plan. In that spirit, GMD organized a training session called "Improve waste reduction and work efficiency" on June 21, 2023, under the guidance of Mr. Dang Van Quang – HSSE Department.\/strong>\/p>\n
The sharing session received a lot of attention, with more than 300 employees participating both online and offline at peak time. This created a very exciting and fun atmosphere during the session.\/p>\n
The content of the training helps everyone understand what is waste and identify common types of waste in the operational process. Most importantly, people learned how to minimize waste in the production process. With a teaching style that is natural and easy to approach, the lecturer has inspired many employees to cut down on waste from their own activities.\/p>\n
The training session also provided attendees with the knowledge of how to use GPT chat, a useful tool to help in the process of reducing waste in the trend of digital transformation in production activities that Gemadept Corporation is promoting strongly.\/p>\n
The implementation of internal training sessions is one of the ways to ensure that all Gemadept employees are always up to date with new knowledge in the most applicable way, helping everyone to work more efficiently and professionally, in the spirit of the Company's culture to "Do better" and "Be the best" in cutting costs and waste.\/p>\n

The exchange was very lively with topics divided into 4 and given to 4 groups so they can practice finding suitable solutions that are affecting the production and business situation of the unit, respectively:\/p>\n
A lot of solutions were offered, with many people showed their determination and desire to contribute to improving the current situation. After the exchange, in addition to recognizing the solutions, especially for the most practical and feasible solutions in the current situation, the Organizing Committee also conducted awarding as a form of encouragement to the groups that had contributed.\/p>\n
In addition to finding the right solutions, the GMD people model with 6 core values and 9 cultural principles was also depicted so everyone can have the same awareness and acts in accordance with the Company's orientation. The cultural activity focused deeply on the values: Ethnicity, Pioneering, and Connecting, along with cultural principles divided into 3 topics respectively: Overcoming obstacles, Trusting and sharing responsibility, and the Leading Gene, heading to 'The way forward'.\/p>\n

On June 16, 2023, Gemadept welcomed lecturers and students of the Institute of International Education and Training – School of Transport (IEC) in Ho Chi Minh City to visit Gemalink Deep-sea Port. The visitors had the opportunity to experience practical activities of the Port. From there, they could to make connections between the field of study and real work.\/strong>\/p>\n
IEC Institute is an affiliated unit of Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport, working in the field of international cooperation, joint training, scientific research cooperation, technology transfer. They develop and apply advanced international technologies to education and training, producing a team of intellectuals with a modern vision and working style, and meet the needs of social development in the period of integration and globalization.\/p>\n
The joint-training program between UTH and Korea Maritime and Ocean University encourage students gain more knowledge about the field of Ports and Logistics in Vietnam and around the world. Gemadept organized the field trip to visit Gemalink Deep-sea Port in Cai Mep port cluster. Gemalink Port is one of the leading deep-sea ports in Vietnam with a total area of up to 72ha and is also one of the top 19 commercial ports that can accommodate the largest vessel in the world with capacity over 200,000 DWT.\/p>\n
During the visit, representatives of Gemadept Corporation and Gemalink Deep-sea Port introduced the port's operation activities, updated the market and development prospects of the Company in particular as well as of Vietnam's seaport industry in general in the near future. "Friendship Day" – On May 27, 2023, Gemalink Port and CMA-CGM Vietnam team together held a friendly football match in Phu My, Ba Ria – Vung Tau. \/strong>\/p>\n
Gemalink Deep-sea Port, a joint venture between Gemadept Corporation and its partner CMA Terminals of France, is one of the leading deep-sea ports in the country. The project is the pride of Vietnamese people when it becomes one of the 19 largest commercial ports in the world that can receive the largest vessels with a tonnage of up to 250,000 DWT. It's also one of the most important transshipment points for cargo in Southeast Asia.\/p>\n
